Students honor teacher

Sixth-grade students wore pink recently in honor of Carrie Arquette, a teacher at the school who battled breast cancer two years ago. Nick Thomas, a student, came up with the idea with his mom Donna and kept it a secret from Arquette.

“I was very surprised when I came in this morning,” Arquette said.

Pictured are five sixth-grade classes and some of their teachers. October is breast cancer awareness month.
