Putorti’s return sparks Railroaders

BballThe Whitehall girls basketball team is happy to have Brittany Putorti back in its lineup.
In her first game back from an injury, the senior and emotional leader of the team, scored 21 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and blocked fours shots to lead Whitehall past Salem 42-27.
Rebecca Lavin added 12 points and Victoria Christian was a nightmare for Salem’s guards, recording eight steals in the game.
Putorti had missed the last three weeks with a concussion.
Head coach Jim Burgey said Putorti’s leadership qualities and work under the basket are a huge asset for the team.
“She’s such a difference maker,” he said.
Whitehall outscored Salem in each quarter and held the Generals to single digit scoring in all four quarters.
With the win, the team improved to 6-5 in the Adirondack League and 7-5 overall.
They travel to Hartford on Friday and Argyle next Wednesday.
