Paul Lyons Miller, 87, of Park Avenue, died peacefully at the Glens Falls Hospital, with his family by his side on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013.

 

Born on July 31, 1925 in Haverhill, N.H., he was the youngest child of the late Dr. Clarence and Gladys (Lyons) Miller of Orwell, Vt.

 

On Oct. 5, 1947, he married Alta (Parrott) Miller, and they raised four children in Whitehall.

 

He retired after 34 years as a machinist with General Electric in Hudson Falls and Fort Edward.

 

He is predeceased by his wife, Alta Parrott Miller, who died on April 21, 2001; one sister, Jeanette Stafford; an infant son, Bradley Paul Miller and one grandson, Cody Miller.

 

He is survived by one daughter, Paula (Stephen) Carpenter of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three sons, William (Kerry) Miller of Granville, David (Kate) Miller of Queensbury and Paul (Lisa) Miller of Whitehall; grandchildren, Steve Carpenter, Kyle Miller, Evan Miller, Hayden Miller and great granddaughter, Madison Carpenter and his brother, Robert Miller of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held at the Jillson Funeral Home in Whitehall.

Interment will be held in the spring at Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall.

 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on 2nd floor at the Glens Falls Hospital for the comfort and care they provided for our father.
