Barbara R. (Corey) Harrington, 86

B arbara R. (Corey) Harrington passed away at the Crescent Manor Nursing Home in Bennington, Vt.

Barbara was born on June 4, 1925, in Mt. Holly, Vt., the daughter of John and Edna (Ackley) Corey. She married Wayne Harrington on July 4, 1943 and they enjoyed 46 wonderful years together in the Pawlet and West Pawlet area.

Barbara belonged to the Eagles Club, Modern Woodmen, Ladies Shrine, Dick Ladd’s Fan Club, and the Adirondack Fiddlers Association. She loved dancing, playing Bingo, and Blue Grass music. She did a lot of crocheting, making beautiful afghans and quilts. She retired from JK Adams in Dorset, Vt.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Ellen and Toyvia Mackey of Pawlet, Vt., her grandsons Daniel Mackey and his wife Deborah of Poultney, Tim Mackey and his wife Sue of Rupert, Joseph Mackey and his wife Tiffany of Fair Haven, Scott Mackey and Donna Saddlemire of Granville, N.Y.

Barbara also leaves behind 16 beloved great-grandchildren, Sargent, Nicholas, Robert and Jonathan Mackey all of Rupert; Justin and Nathan Mackey of Poultney; Adam, Victoria O’Neill, Lillian, Shelby, Harlie and Ty Mackey of Fair Haven; Corey Mackey of Pawlet, Arin, Kaedin and Landen Mackey of Granville; and a great-great-granddaughter Sierra. Also surviving are a sister Sylvia Cramer of West Pawlet and a brother Robert and his wife Mildred of Pawlet.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Wayne, her brothers Charles and John, her sisters Viola Stone, Alice Reed, Betty Austin and Margaret Gardner, as well as several nieces and nephews.

As per Barbara’s request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring with burial at Mountainview Cemetery in West Pawlet, Vt.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. Granville, N.Y.
