I t’s time for the ice fishing shanties to be retired for the season.
The Department of Environmental Conservation says all shanties must be removed from the surface of bodies of water by Friday or owners could face fines of $100.
Officials say that shanties that fall through the ice are difficult to retrieve and can damage boats.
