Macura named legionnaire of the year

Macura Legionnaire WTJustin Macura, a 2006 graduate of Granville High School who served in combat in Afghanistan, has received the Legionnaire Award for outstanding service to the American Legion.

He received his American Legion eligibility through his service with the Vermont National Guard, including a combat deployment to Afghanistan with “C” Troop of the 1/172 Cavalry.  He and his wife, the former Jenine Morse, reside on Pauline Street in Whitehall with their three children.  Justin is also very active with the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Company.

Justin is employed by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department as a Corrections Officer. He holds the position of Sergeant at Arms and 2nd Vice Commander in Post 83.
