Tennis team brings home loss

I n one of their few losses of the season, Golden Horde tennis players took home a 5-2 defeat to Schuylerville on Wednesday.

Joey Lea defeated the Horses’ Matt Burkett 10-5. Ean Smith’s opponent gave him a run for his money, but he still claimed an 11-9 win.

Alexis Smith and Matt Bixby both lost their singles matches 10-2, and Kyle LaPlante gave up a 10-7 match.

The doubles teams fell hard with Emily Campbell and Mat Decker losing 10-1 and Nathan Palmer and Andy Williams taking a 10-0 hit.

Schuylerville came prepared for the match with an undefeated record. The Horde had one more chance to play on Wednesday against Corinth
