Local kids advance to regionals

Elks Soccer shoot group BWWhitehall Elks Lodge 1491 held its annual local soccer shoot on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Whitehall Elks field on County Route 12 and three of the winning shooters from that match, Mikayla Click, Shawn Mulholland III and Presley Gosselin, were in Saranac Lake for the District competition on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The kids competed against participants from Glens Falls, Plattsburgh, Saranac Lake, Keeseville and Ticonderoga. All three competitors from Whitehall took first place in their divisions. Mikayla won the Under 10 Girls division, Shawn won the Under 10 Boys division and Presley won the Under 8 Girls division.

The next step is a State regional competition which will be held right here at the Elks Field in Whitehall at noon on Saturday, Oct. 5th. The competition will be open to the public. Winners will go on to the New York State Finals in Syracuse.
