Strong performances for indoor track

A number of Granville athletes performed well at the WASAREN League indoor track championship meet on Sunday.

The girls 4×200 relay team, consisting of Taylor Scribner, Hannah Jones, Emily Leavey and Molly O’Brien, won with a time of 2:00.50.

Scribner continued to place with a second in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.91 seconds and a fourth place finish in the 300-meter dash. Jones ran a season best time of 1:51.9 in the 600-meter run, earning her a fourth-place finish, Coach Adam Burr said.

Kibling snagged a fourth-place finish as well, with a distance of 29 feet 9 inches in the triple jump. Leavey placed sixth in the girls’ long jump with a distance of 13 feet 2 inches.

For the boys, Alex Lasa won the triple jump with a distance of 37 feet 11 inches, and he placed fifth in both the long jump and the 600-meter run as well.

Jacob Williams got fifth in the boys 300-meter dash in 40.3 seconds.

“Another bright spot for the boys team was sophomore Kyle Suchan who made the boys 55-meter dash finals and placed fifth,” Burr said.

The boys 4×400 team also scored with a fourth-place finish.
