Tennis team defeats Burgers for first win

AlexWhitehall’s tennis team picked up its first win of the season last Thursday against Warrensburg.
The Railroaders won four of the five singles matches as it defeated Warrensburg 5-2.
Alex Wood, Ryan St. Clair, Matt Austin and Noah Ramey all picked up wins and Beonica Chaplin and Steven Gosselin won their doubles match.
In other matches, Whitehall lost to Argyle last week 5-2. Austin and Rachel Aubin picked up wins for Whitehall while Ramey lost a hard fought match 10-8.
The doubles teams of Chaplin and Allison Truttling feel in a close match 10-8 and Brent Williams and John Hollister feel 7-10.
On Friday, Whitehall hosted Granville where they again suffered a 5-2 loss.
Austin and Zach Rice each picked up a 10-2 win in the match.
Whitehall will host North Warren Friday at 4:15 p.m. before competing in next week’s Adirondack League Championships.
