Tennis team defeats Whitehall

DSC_0038Granville’s tennis team split a pair of matches last week.
Last Wednesday the team hosted Hadley Luzerne and was defeated 5-2.
The team got off to a good start as its top two players picked up wins. Ean Smith dispatched Cal Bolt 10-3 and Alexis Smith defeated Brandon Ball 10-5, but Hadley-Luzerne won the five remaining matches for the win.
The closest match of the evening pitted the doubles teams of TJ Harrold and Zoe Fuerst against Granville’s Nathan Palmer and Andy Williams. Harrold and Fuerst narrowly edged Palmer and Williams 11-9.
Granville had better luck on Friday against Whitehall as they defeated the Railroaders 5-2. Granville’s top three singles and both of its doubles team picked up wins.
Ean Smith and Alexis Smith won 10-2 and 10-4, respectively, and Kyle LaPlante picked up a 10-4.
Emily Campbell and Dan Truso dispatched Beonica Chaplin and Allison Truttling 10-1 and Nathan Palmer and Andy William defeated Noah Ramey and Steven Gosselin 10-3.
Granville travels to Greenwich tonight and Corinth tomorrow before competing in the Adirondack League Tournament next week.
