Pember hosting ice cream social, silent auction

T he Pember Library and Museum may have scraped First Friday in July because of the holiday, but the First Saturday of July is shaping up to be a fair consolation.
The library and museum will host an Independence Weekend Ice Cream Social and silent auction from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 5.
The fundraiser will feature a variety of culinary treats and guests will have the opportunity to bid on dozens of items from artwork to household items.
There will be red, white and blue ice cream sundaes, cupcakes, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, soft drinks, games, and music on the lawn at the Pember.
Inside the library will be a silent auction. The library has collected a variety of donations and patrons will be able to bid on the goods. There will be a wide variety of items available, from a signed Will Moses print, valued at $400 to a box of Cabot Cheddar Cheese. A full list of auction items, with accompanying photos is available on the Pember’s website at pember.sals.edu.
The starting bid for most items range from $10 to $25. Patrons will be able to bid on items beginning at 4 p.m. and winners will be announced shortly after 7 p.m. Libations and refreshments will be available inside the library.
For more information, call the library at 642-2525 or visit pember.sals.edu.
