Granville’s volleyball team picked up a big non-league win over Glens Falls on Monday.
After winning the first two games, the Horde saw Glens Falls even the score at two games a piece before rallying the win final game and the match 25-17, 25-19, 18-25, 23-25-25-20.
Mikaela McGuire had two assists and six digs, Bri Ettori recorded six aces, five kills and seven digs and Bri Figueroa had four aces, two assists and two digs.
Last Wednesday, Granville rallied to win the third game in its home opener, but fell to Corinth 3-1.
After dropping the first sets 25-12 and 25-14, Granville narrowly edged Stillwater 23-25 to crawl its way back into the match. However, Stillwater answered back in the fourth set, winning 25-12 to earn the victory.
Ettori had another stellar performance for the Horde, serving three aces and recording a pair of blocks.
On Friday, Granville traveled to Clums Corner where they were defeated by Tamarac in straight games, 25-12, 25-12 and 25-10.
Bri Prieur led Granville with 11 digs while Ettori served one ace and recorded two kills and a block.
Granville falls to 0-2 in the league and 2-2 overall.
Granville travels to Hoosic Valley on Friday and will host the Ace for the Cure Tournament on Saturday.
The fifth annual event seeks to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness and will feature teams from Duanesburg, Fort Edward, Hartford, Cambridge, Hadley Luzerne, and Mechanicville, Warrensburg.
Play will start at 9 a.m. and food and refreshments will be available throughout the day. Previous events have raised upward of $1,000.
