A local man was arrested Sunday for allegedly assaulting a woman.

James Bushman, 33, of Church Street, was charged with felony counts of sexual assault and criminal contempt, as well as forcible touching, and unlawful imprisonment, both misdemeanors.

Police say Bushman forced a woman he knew to have sexual contact with him. The victim had an order of protection against the woman.

Bushman was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child because the incident was witnessed by a young child.
He was arraigned and sent to Washington County Jail for lack of bail.
