Girls fall to Greenwich in opener

A stingy defense was too much for Granville to overcome in season opener Friday night.

Granville was held to seven points to in the first half of a 71-22 loss to visiting Greenwich
Alexis Case led all scorers with 23 points and Sabrina Whitehouse chipped in 16 more for Greenwich.

Marissa Brown led Granville with eight points.

Granville struggled to find any offensive rhythm as it was held to single digit scoring in all four quarters. Greenwich compounded matters by scoring 43 points in the first half, putting Granville in a hole it could not dig itself out of.

Granville was scheduled to play Tamarac on Tuesday night (results weren’t available before the paper went to press) and will host Mechanicville tonight at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to Whitehall on Monday evening.
