Town to host hearing on fire protection

The town board will hold a public hearing later this month on proposed contracts for fire protection services.
The hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

During the meeting, the public will have a chance to weigh in on proposed contracts for the Penrhyn Engine and Hose Company, the North Granville Hose Company and the Granville Engine and Hose Company.

If approved, the Penrhyn Engine and Hose Company would provide fire protection in the Middle Granville Fire District at a cost of $80,019.

The North Granville Hose Company would do the same in the North Granville fire district at a cost of $63,144.

And the Granville Engine and Hose Company would cover the South Granville district for a cost of $63,356.

Each of the contacts represents a small increase over this year’s figures.

The Penrhyn Engine and Hose Company will receive an additional $1,569, the North Granville Hose Company will get an extra $1,450 and the Granville Engine and Hose Company will receive an additional $1,242 compared to last year’s figures.
