Variety show to sponsor Hook and Ladder

Skeeter Morse and others are putting on a variety show based on the CBS TV show “Hee-Haw,” which takes place on July 11 at 7 p.m. at the Granville Hook and Ladder.

The event benefits the Granville Hook and Ladder Fire Department and will include songs and skits. The music will be performed by Morse and others, featuring songs by Dolly Parton, Glenn Campbell, Johnny Cash and others.

“We will replicate the original Hee Haw show by doing the funny skits of Minnie Pearl, Junior Samples, the Gossip Girls, John Henry Faulk of KORN Radio, Archie Campbell, Gram-pa Jones and Buck Owens along with some of the greatest Country Music in that era,” said a press release for the event.

Tickets cost $8 for adults, $5 for students and children under 8 get in for free. They are available at the door or ahead of time by visiting www.facebook,com/SPMSHOWS and there will also be a 50/50 raffle and refreshments.
