Former WWE wrestler Brodus Clay will be the highlight of the World of Hurt Wrestling event tomorrow night at the Whitehall Athletic Club.

The wrestling itself will begin at 7 p.m. but the 6-foot 7-inch, 375-pound Clay will hold a meet and greet with fans at 5:30 p.m., offering autographs, a Q&A session and a chance to get a photo with him.

When WWE hall-of-famer Mick Foley came to the Whitehall Athletic Club in April to do a similar meet and greet, WAC workers reported that was the largest crowd they had ever drawn for a wrestling bout, with well more than 300 people packed into the former armory. WAC staff are hoping that continues with Clay.

Clay was involved in the WWE from 2006-14 and was runner-up in the fourth season of WWE NXT. In addition to the character of Brodus Clay, the wrestler took on the personas of G-Rilla, George Murdoch, George T. Murdoch, Monstrous BC and Tyrus.

Clay’s signature moves, including the Tongan Death Grip and the Battering Ram, were nearly as well-known in the wrestling community as Foley’s famous Mr. Socko.

In addition to wrestling, Clay has been involved in acting. He appeared in the 2012 horror film “No One Lives,” Tito Santanaplaying the role of Ethan, and also appeared in Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery as himself. He has done voice-over work for the YouTube cartoon series “Trashville.”

The 42-year-old Clay may be the most well-known name at the WAC tomorrow, but there will also be six wrestling bouts featuring various World of Hurt wrestlers, who always put on a show for the fans. Clay will even be involved in one of the six bouts.

It was announced Monday that Clay will be joined by fellow former WWE wrestler Tito Santana, a hall-of-famer.

Tickets cost $15 for general admission, $20 for the front row and $20 for the meet and greet with Clay. Tickets can be purchased at the Whitehall Athletic Club, located at 62 Poultney Street.
