The early August fire that destroyed a home at 514 Dublin Road remains under investigation, according to Washington County Fire Coordinator Ray Rathbun.

“The investigation is still open, still being worked on and looked into,” he said.

Investigators previously stated the blaze was believed to have originated from a coffee pot.

North Granville Fire Chief Scott McCullen confirmed potential leads in the case had come in to investigators, but so far, no answers have come as a result.

Washington County Real Property tax records show the home is owned by Thomas H. Goodspeed Sr.

At the scene, Mark and Janice Rivers confirmed they had been renting the home since September 2013.
