Superintendent vaults to Ravena
Superintendent Daniel Teplesky confirmed Monday that he will be leaving the Granville School District for the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk School District in July.
David Waters does not want it to go away.
At the Whitehall town board meeting on Feb. 11, Waters approached the members of the board about new findings after appointed highway superintendent Louie Pratt completed his inventory review of the town garage.
A first step towards consolidation talks?
The town and village of Whitehall have scheduled a meeting for Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7:15 p.m. to discuss the topic. The meeting will be held at the town recreation center.
The 2009 Washington County Budget is still a work in progress.
County budget officer Gayle Hall (Fort Ann) asked for the resolution to adopt the 2009 tentative budget be removed from the agenda at the Nov. 21 meeting of the board.
“It’s obvious that we are not ready to take action at this time,” said Hall when the resolution was brought to the floor. “I motion that we table this and pick this up again at a Dec. 2 meeting to be held at 11 a.m. to continue action on the 2009 budget.”
Would look to buy former betting site
The town of Whitehall may be getting closer to relocating to a permanent setting.
Town supervisor Vernon Scribner said that the matter of moving the town offices from the Pavilion potentially to the former Garden Time store and Off-Track Betting site on County Route 4 will be brought up at the Nov. 12 meeting of the town board.
Brian Rozell’s response to the Whitehall town board was quick.
He resigned.
Rozell, the now former highway superintendent who is at the center of an investigation into the use of fuel oil at the town highway garage, sent in his letter of resignation to the board on Oct. 31.
The Whitehall town board is not asking highway superintendent Brian Rozell to be at the next meeting on Nov. 6.
They are demanding it.
One over-loaded engineer, is all, it turns out, that stood between Granville and a replacement for the trestle bridge.
As a cost-savings measure the buildings in the Granville School District will be cooling off just a bit this winter.
