The damage to the pocketbook at Whitehall Central School could be as high as three-quarters of a million dollars.
An assemblyman and the director of public works for the county were on hand to help Whitehall residents take out the trash last Friday.
The meeting has yet to happen. Whitehall Mayor Francis “Fra” Putorti and his Granville counterpart, Jay Niles, said in August they planned to meet together sometime after the Labor Day holiday to discuss the situation regarding monies owed to Whitehall.
The village of Whitehall asked nicely, and the answer was “no.” Now, the village will be seeking legal action.
Whitehall Village Mayor Francis “Fra” Putorti will seek out his counterpart from Granville soon to talk money.
