‘New’ school year
Regardless of where you matriculate within the Granville School District this school year, a few surprises await returning students as classes begin Sept. 8.
One of the local cool spots will again be open for the season as the Washington County Park at Huletts Landing will open full-time starting this weekend.

That’s the message that was sent out by Whitehall Central School Superintendent James Watson last week as he announced a “freeze” on school organizations fundraising throughout the rest of the school year.

The collection of school taxes will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 1, and continue through Nov. 6, with the board dividing $4,244,153 between each of the five towns that it serves. The school spending plan was approved by voters in May.
