Police plan to be presented
Roger LeClaire will be at the next meeting of the Whitehall Village Board. The Washington County sheriff will be giving a formal presentation to the board concerning the issue of community policing on Monday, June 15, as the village continues to look at the future of the village police department.
Referendum on police coming?
The officers could remain the same, but the department could change hands. Whitehall Village Mayor Francis “Fra” Putorti said he is willing to put the matter of turning the duties of law enforcement in the village over to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
