Section II releases Horde football schedule

Controversy should be the farthest thing from Granville Golden Horde fan’s minds this fall after the recent release of the 2011 football schedule for Class C North. Head coach Mario Torres said with a handful of teams dropping into Class D the teams in Class C and evened up with eight in the north and south. “I like the fact that there are even numbers of teams so we can avoid the whole head-to-head thing, that won’t happen this year,” Torres said. For the third time in four years Granville opens up with the Warriors from Stillwater. The Golden Horde will be on the road for that game and three more as they have a road-heavy schedule for this season. Torres said the focus of the coaching staff is much more on losing 35 seniors in two years and getting the kids in what he hopes is a big turnout ready to play a tough schedule from camps to the weight room and everything else.

“We got a lot of work to do to be ready to be competitive that first weekend,” Torres said.

As announced earlier in the spring these are the possible match ups for the Granville Golden Horde in the 2011 season of Class C football.

In the 2011 Section II Class C football 16 teams competing in Class C, divide into north and south.
