O ne woman was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center with head injuries following a car between her Jeep and a heavy-duty pickup truck towing a boat on a trailer, on Route 22A in Raceville early Wednesday afternoon.

State police did not immediately have information on the names of the drivers, but the man driving the truck appeared to be uninjured. The woman, whose head hit the windshield, was extricated by members of Granville EMS, Granville Hook & Ladder, Granville Engine and Hose and the Middle Granville Fire Department.

It appeared at the scene that the truck was northbound and the Jeep headed south when the vehicles collided. Both came to rest off the road in a cornfield. The Jeep had serious front-end damage and the truck was also damaged around its front headlights and bumper.

Emergency crews did not need much time, but did use rescue tools to get the woman out of her vehicle.
