Benefit BBQ Sept. 21

Hartford resident Beth Cook is running a marathon next month in support of Bright Pink, an organization dedicated to supporting young girls predisposed to breast or ovarian cancer.

In order to help raise money for the race and the organization, Cook will be doing a barbeque fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Her husband, Hartford Superintendent Andrew Cook, will make barbeque chicken and beef brisket for the event, and the $10 cost will also include cole slaw, baked beans and a baked potato. Presale tickets are available at the Hartford school until Sept. 14.
