Whitehall Rifle Club still perfect

The Whitehall Rifle Club finished the first half of the season 7-0 with its strongest outing of the year, by out shooting Reynolds Road on their home range 982-936.

The win leaves undefeated Whitehall on top of the league, with Hartford snapping at their heels at 6-1. Hartford shot 977 in their win over Fort Edward; a score believed to be a team record for Hartford.

Lou Pratt and John Hollister had identical scores of 198 to lead the team. In the number three spot was Joe DeLome with a fine 197. Jason Pratt, making his first appearance of the season, was in fourth with 196 while Dick McMore closed out the top five with 193.

Jason Pratt, who was the top shooter in the league, last season, was a welcome addition to the Whitehall Team, whose ranks had been thinned this season. Another top shooter expected back this coming week is Pete Steffan who has been away from the shooting line due to surgery.

Another bright spot this last week was the back up. Rick DeLorme, Dan Holcomb and Scott Fish all shot 190s, just in case they were needed. In addition, young Noah Ramey is creeping up there with a 188.

This week the team will return to its home range to take on Fort Ann. Since the Hollister Road Range opened on Jan. 3, 2002, Whitehall is 95-0 at home. 174-5 in regular season league competition.
