O ver the past two weekends, the Whitehall Rifle Club has shot two impressive rounds.

Two weekends ago Whitehall defeated Hartford 984-954 and this weekend the shooters topped Fort Edward by a tally of 983-932.

Pete Steffan shot the league’s first perfect score of the season during the Hartford matchup.

Steffan had been absent from the firing line for five weeks, due to surgery. In spite of the fact he still was not feeling well; Steffan decided to go, just to lend moral support to the team. As it turned out he gave more than moral support, shooting the first perfect score in the league this season and only the third of his distinguished career. He averages 195.8 this year.

In what has been an up and down season, the Whitehall shooters were up for this match while Hartford was down, Whitehall dominating 984-954. Whitehall had its best outing of the season.

The second spot on the Whitehall team was Jason Pratt with 198. Pratt has only made four matches this season but is averaging an outstanding 197.25. John Hollister was third with 197 to make his season average 197.2. That is for all 10 matches. It’s difficult to beat a team with these three guys leading the way.

The fourth spot on the team was high school student Joe DeLorme with 195. DeLorme has made the team in 7 of the 10 matches. His season high score is 199 and his average is 193.2. Lou Pratt closed out the top five with 194. Louie is hanging tough this season with an average of 194.6.

Scott Fish had his best night of the season but didn’t make the cut for the Whitehall team even though he would have been high shooter on the other team. That is not an unusual thing when you shoot for Whitehall.

The Junior Shooters did well, DeLorme being one of them. Noah Ramey and Liam Tomasi both shot 189 while Sophia Barber had a little trouble with kneeling to finish with 176. Two of the Whitehall Juniors shot for Hartford, Jay Lawrence shot 187 and Alyssa Wicks had 173.

This past weekend, Hollister shot 198 to lead all shooters as the Whitehall Rifle Club scored win No. 11 on the season on a very cold Fort Edward Range last Thursday night. Just a point behind Hollister was Fish, having his best night of the season with a 197.

Joe DeLorme, Steffan and Louie Pratt each shot 196 to finish out the top five.

The Whitehallers survived the mirage on the Fort Edward Range to come away with a 983-932 win. Whitehall will now close out the season with three home matches against Hudson Falls, Reynolds Road and Moreau.

The Whitehallers had a pretty good back up with Dick McMore’s 193, Noah Ramey’s 191, and Rick DeLorme’s 190. .

Joe DeLorme and Ramey are junior shooters. Other juniors taking part were Tomasi with a 185 and Barber with a 183. The juniors are doing very well and have won the respect of seniors throughout the league.
