Granville man faces multiple felonies

A Granville man is facing multiple felonies after he used another person’s debit card.

Judson M. Cody, 30, of Granville, was charged last Tuesday with fourth-degree grand larceny and forgery.

On Feb. 21 Cody used a debit card to withdraw $500 from an acquaintance’s account. Police said the woman had asked him to get her $300, but had taken an additional $200 without her permission.

She noticed the money was missing when she went to check her financial records a few weeks later. She also discovered a number of other transactions which had been made using her debit card.

Police obtained video surveillance that showed Cody exiting a local store with merchandise on the same day as one of those transactions. They also obtain copies of receipts from a second store that were charged to the victim’s account but signed by Cody.

Cody was arrested last Tuesday. He was taken into custody and processed.
